Doctors must have a reliable website

Unlike other professions, medicine is profession of trust. People are always afraid of consulting new doctors. Gone are the days when people used to rely on their friends and family for good doctors. Medicine is very sensitive discipline. People are afraid of getting wrong treatment. They want to know all about the doctor before even visiting him.

Present Times Scenario is completely changed from what used to happen 10 years back. Now when someone feel the need of doctor in a field where they don’t know anyone, they go on internet and search for that doctor’s name.

They see names of doctors, hospitals or clinics in google search results and google maps. They start checking details of some of them. They are basically looking for reviews of other people and more about the doctor they will be visiting.

If the doctor doesn’t has a website, people rely on whatever they see on internet. Remember all information on internet is not autheticated. They might see incomplete or inappropriate  information or negative reviews somewhere. Once they see it, they will never give visiting that doctor a second thought.

So for all doctors, physicians and medical practitioners, it is very important to have a professional website which is neatly designed and looks reliable (very important)

A doctor’s website must have following:

  1. Name/ Degree / Experience and Specialization
  2. Location with Phone number and opening hours
  3. Doctor’s background for credibility
  4. Details of Team if it is a hospital or multispeciality clinic.
  5. Testimonials
  6. Blog, to express views of medical problems relevant to their profession
  7. Book Appointment Consultation Button and Form (Optional)

Visual Presentation is very important and can’t be neglected. A badly created website will confuse people and scare them away. Goal of doctors website should be to create n enforce a sense of TRUST & EXPERTISE.
